Brian’s Wish was to have dinner with his friends at the Labrador Tigers AFL Sport Club
12 September, 2025

Dinner at the local and a beer with mates. Brian's Wish was to have a parmy with his friends at the Labrador Tigers AFL Sports Club.
A regular every Friday night, the club was a weekly treat for Brian, with familiar faces, raffles and plenty of stories to keep him coming back. This wish was no different.
It was an afternoon and evening filled with friends, family, stories and moments that will be remembered.
As the wish came to a close, something incredible happened. Brian was on his way to the wish ambulance, and, as he was escorted, the entire club stood up and applauded him – like a guard of honour. It was an emotional moment for Brian, and one that touched everyone there.
A beautiful tribute to a much-loved man.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Sue, Brett and Jack for fulfilling this last wish and Ange Costes Photography for creating memories forever for Brian and his loved ones.
Thank you to our service partner Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service – Gold Coast University Hospital Palliative Care Team and the support of Labrador Tigers AFL Sports Club on this special occasion.
Ambulance Wish Queensland is the signature program of Palliative Care Queensland and is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, and we thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our team to fulfil wishes and create memories.
